My Top 10 Reads of 2017 (plus one) #Top10Books2017

It’s that time of year again when I’ve had to think about my Top 10 books that I have especially enjoyed over the last twelve months.  For various reasons, I haven’t been able to read as many this year as I would normally – I’ve managed less than 70 which for a bookworm is not good BUT the good thing is that virtually all of those have been very enjoyable.  I choose my books very carefully and only ever read those that I hope I will enjoy and therefore so many of this year’s reads have been worthy of 4 and 5* ratings.

Anyway, on to my top 10 reads.  These are in no particular order but they are all 5* reads from this year and all are books that I felt were rather special.   There are so many books that I’ve enjoyed this year that haven’t made this list but that is no reflection on them –  if I named every single one this list would be endless.

I’m going to cheat a little here and add a book that I have just finished (well almost). I’ve deliberately left the last couple of pages to read tonight so that I can legitimately add it to my contenders for my 2018 list.  It’s a January release so you won’t have to wait long for it but it deserves to be a huge success.  The Confession by Jo Spain. I’ve been completely engrossed by the superb characterisation and twisted story that had my head in knots. My review will follow for the blog tour in January but do look out for this book, published by Quercus.

As ever, I have so many books I have been sent, and have bought myself that I simply haven’t been able to find reading time for.  I am sure that so many of these unread ones would have made this list – that old cliche of “too many books, so little time” is so true. With heaving bookshelves and a heavy Kindle, I have no shortage of books to read. I love the idea that I have my own private library to choose from…..and there is always next year!

This is my last 2017 post however I am reading some cracking books that are being published in early 2018 and reviews will follow soon.  I would just like to thank authors for writing books that have provided endless hours of enjoyment, to publishers for being so kind as to send me review copies and to everyone who has supported my blog by reading it, sharing posts and commenting.

Wishing everyone a very happy and healthy New Year and a 2018 filled with more wonderful books.
