Huge apologies to Caroline and to Rachel Gilbey for the lateness of this post. It should have been posted on Jungle Rock’s first birthday of 21 November but I’ve been hit with a very unpleasant bout of Labyrinthitis over the last week and wasn’t able to get to the pc to finish this post and publish it. I’m still way behind with promised blog tour posts so you will see a lot of apologies in the coming week!
Don’t forget to scroll down to the bottom of the post for the chance to win a £20 Amazon voucher.
Anyway back to Jungle Rock, my question to Caroline was “Which 6 celebrities would you want to be in a jungle reality TV show and why?” As you can see from her post here, there are some varied guests.
* *
I’m going to cheat slightly and start with a celeb who’s no longer with us. Top of my list would be the TV Chef, Keith Floyd who sadly passed, leaving his earthly kitchen to cook on heavenly stoves. Floyd was a genius with one-pot cooking and would have kept the camp going on the most meagre supplies. I’m not sure how he would have coped with the tasks without a glass of wine in his hand but have no doubt he’d have led the troops into battle and given it his best shot.
Bring on Bonnie Tyler – Wales’ first lady of rock! I think Bonnie would be funny and gritty and there to get the job done. Her music covers so many styles and she’d be interesting company. Maybe the matriarch of the camp and a mum to the younger ones.
Hugh Skinner, who plays Will Humphries in the BBC’s series W1A, but only if he is in character as ‘Will’. Will is such a loveable dope and it would be hilarious to watch him handle the tasks. He would spend most of his time wandering around trying to find out what it is he’s supposed to be doing, occasionally attempting a menial task set by camp-mates; when they remember that he’s there. “Brilliant, cool, yah!”
To attract the younger audience and bring an international flavour I’d like to see Justin Bieber jump out of a plane and parachute into the jungle. With over 100 million followers, twitter would go crazy. But would the super-star survive in a rat-infested pit or pool full of rotting fish-guts? I’d be intrigued to find out!
Model turned actress, Lily Cole would add style and glamour and as a humanitarian and supporter of environmental causes might be favourite for the crown of Jungle Queen. Lily part-owns a book shop so would get my vote and wouldn’t it be nice if she read everyone a bed-time story at the end of their harrowing day?
Lastly, Conor McGregor, please step-up and box your way into the jungle. The Irish UFC mixed martial artist and professional boxer would be sure to win every task and bring home a full bag of meals each day. His stunning wardrobe of designer clothes would be left hanging in a five-star closet as audiences wait to see what wise words mark the stripe in his outfit at the after-show party…
Who would the readers want to go into the jungle with?
Huge thanks for hosting me on your lovely blog xx
