I’m rather late to the party with my post – as I’m sure you will have seen a few of these recently. Unfortunately my parcel arrived the day after I left home for a holiday.
I was fortunate to receive an invite to last year’s Capital Crime weekend in London, I enjoyed it so much that I booked my own weekend pass for this year when they went on sale last year. Sadly this year’s event has been cancelled, another Covid casualty but instead the folks at Capital Crime have come up with a great looking monthly book subscription that’s affordable. I was thrilled to have been asked to review the first box on a complimentary basis and this is such a simple and cost effective one that I am going to try a subscription.
So what was in my box.
I haven’t yet read The House Guest so am looking forward to that. I love stationery and have long coveted the pens offered in Mark’s launch giveaways – this one has a built in torch.
I have read The Thursday Murder Club and recently reviewed this for the publisher blog tour here – I very much enjoyed it and the signed hardback will be one for my keeper bookshelves.
There are three levels of monthly subscriptions –
£10.00 for 12 months
£12.99 for 6 months
£14.99 for 3 months
So what do you get for your money
Each month subscribers will receive:
Two carefully selected crime and thriller books.
Access to exclusive online author interviews.
The latest news and competitions.
The chance to have your voice heard as part of our book club community.
If you’re tempted, the sign up link is here, together with full details, or you prefer, you can copy this link below into your browser

So what do you think? I’ve been put off a little by subscription book clubs in the past because some can be rather expensive and contain items that will just end up in a drawer unused, but I like the look of this – its just books which is what I want and if there happens to be an item of stationery like a pen, notebook or bookmark included now and again, even better!
